Queen Anne's Men was one of the companies formed in the wake of the accession of King James I. Its members formerly had belonged to the Earl of Worcester's men. After 1603, the company appears to have used the Curtain playhouse. By 1606 the company was at the Red Bull where it stayed until 1617. The company also performed in the provinces with some regularity.

One landmark for the company in the 1610s involved conflicts with Susanna Greene, recently widowed (Thomas Greene) and remarried to James Baskerville. It involved Christopher Beeston and ownership issues with the company and its property. During these legal contests, the company moved to the Cockpit playhouse, where it endured a riot by apprentices on 1 March 1617.
