William Knell was a player with the Queen's men by 1587 when he and John Towne (also a Queen's man) got in a fight and Knell was killed. Famously, his death dates The Famous Victories of Henry V because of a jest about Richard Tarlton, which claims that Knell played the part of Henry V.
