Matthew Steggle is Professor of English at the University of Bristol. His research encompasses early modern drama, especially Caroline drama; and digital humanities, broadly defined. His publications include Richard Brome: Place and Politics on the Caroline Stage (2004); Laughing and Weeping in Early Modern Theatres (2007); and Digital Humanities and the Lost Drama of Early Modern England: Ten Case Studies (2015). He was awarded the 2015 Calvin and Rose G. Hoffman Prize for Distinguished Publication on Christopher Marlowe.
