A Richard Alleyn witnessed a loan from Philip Henslowe to his nephew, Francis, in 1594; he may/may not be the player with the Admiral's men in the 1590s till his death in 1601.
Although he carried an illustrious theatrical name Richard Alleyn was, according to Nungezer, "apparently no kinsman of Edward" (p. 13). Richard appears in the diary of Philip Henslowe as witness to a loan of £ 15 to Henslowe's nephew, Francis, on 8 May 1594 "to laye downe for his share to the Quenes players when they bro''c''ke & went into th''e'' contrey to playe" ([[WorksCited|Foakes, p. 7]]).
