"Multiple plays in one" refers to those plays which appear to have been playlets joined in an overarching motif such as theme or character. Plays based on frame stories are one example, but with plays such as "Five Plays in One" (Queen's; Admiral's) and "Three Plays in One" (Queen's), there is no way to identify the connecting principles.
