Frederic Gerschow was the tutor and secretary of Duke Philip Julius of Stettin-Pomerania. In 1602, Gerschow accompanied the duke to London, and on several occasions they visited playhouses. One play that they saw (now lost) is recorded by Gerschow as being "Stuhlweissenberg." Matthew Steggle identifies that play as the same with a play Philip Henslowe recorded in his diary under the title "Albere Galles" (Digital Humanities and the Lost Drama of Early Modern England (2015). That play was written in 1602 by Thomas Heywood and Wentworth Smith and performed at the Fortune playhouse by the Admiral's men.
