Theatrical Provenance

acquisition (timing) in context of Swan/Isle of Dogs/breakup of Pembroke's men Greg supposes that this (and other) play had previously been in the repertory of that company at the Swan (Greg, HD, I.122). The purchase of apparell (as well as the listing of the book among others purchased by the company) implies that the play was brought to the stage at the Rose shortly after December 1597.
