Patrizia Botta and Elisabetta Vaccaro (in their article in Works Cited) argue for the influence of the 1599 Plantiniana edition of the Celestina on Mabbe's translations; nevertheless, they retain Martínez Lacalle's hypothesis that the 1598 S.R. entry represented an early version by Mabbe. If anyone proficient in Italian (and, ideally, Spanish) would like to engage with their textual arguments to test the plausibility of retaining the identification with the 1598 S.R. entry for their stemma, I'm more than happy to send along a PDF of the article. - M.T.
