Critical Commentary

"The only evidence for the existence of a play of this name is Marriott's entry of the play in the Stationers' Register ... The title brings to mind Webster's The Devil's Law Case (q.v.), but that play had been printed for John Grismand in 1623, and it does not seem likely that Marriott would have entered it on the Stationers' Register in 1653". (Bentley, 5.1364).
