Thomas Parsons, a "boy" of Thomas Downton in Philip Henslowe's accounts, had the part of a Fury in the Admiral's revival of The Battle of Alcazar in 1602; in this same time frame, he played "an attendant, a Persian, a guard, a messenger, a nurse, and an Hermaphrodite in the processof of "1 Tamar Cham" (Nungezer, p. 266). According to Kathman, the fact that Downtown bound apprentices to the Vintners is not a guarantee that Parsons was "probably not bound in a livery company" too (pp. 23-24).
