Thomas Dabbs is a professor of English at Aoyama Gakuin University in Tokyo, where he has taught Shakespeare and the English Bible since 2003. Prior to this position Dabbs taught at Hiroshima University. He is a native of the state of South Carolina in the U.S. Dabbs is the author of ''Reforming Marlow: the Canonization of a Renaissance Dramatist'' (Bucknell UP, 1991) and other articles on Shakespeare and on general literary topics. Dabbs' book on teaching the Bible in Japan, entitled ''Genesis in Japan'', will be brought out by the Texas Review Press in 2013. Dabbs holds a BA in English from Furman University, an MA in English from Claremont Graduate School, and a Ph.D. in English, with a specialty in Early Modern Drama, from the University of South Carolina.
